WPR - A Sense of Place

Feedback from tutor

You may need to rethink the connection method to put your seat in the 3 different configurations.
Butt bin is not necessary for this design and the bench itself can solve the problem of butt waste.
Explore the methods of manufacturing those seat units.

Feedback from peer1:
It's a good solution to solve butt waste, and the material is environmentally friendly. You can consider more about the connection methods of those seat units.

Feedback from peer2:
Maybe it is better to make the seat units fixed to avoid potential injuries though it is fun to have rotatable parts. And you can still keep the connecting tab to prevent the piece moving.

Feedback form other tutors:
The length of bench could be reduced.
The moving parts may cause serious injuries.

WPR - rotatable bench

Feedback from tutor
It might be cool if you can make the units rotatable. Try considering connection methods and rotation methods to make it work, like a stop can be put on the floor or in the pipe. Butt bins can be put at two sides of the bench instead of on the units if these units can be rotated. You can put rings between two units to make a significant gap to avoid safety risks

Feedback from peer1
- it's really good idea to make the bench that has seats for different people, but i think its bit dangerous for old people to seat the bench might flip when they seat. i think its better to have a limit that moves only up to 30 degrees.

Feedback form peer2
it's pretty cool if you can make it rotatable. You can do some research on connection methods and try to refine the shape of units.

Feedback form other tutors
The form looks nice, hopefully it’s comfortable. While it could seem like fun, maybe there should be significant gaps between the chairs to avoid injury. Explore the connections, you might need to use bearings and other components to keep them working smoothly. The backrests maybe should not go down to the floor, so when you flick it up to sit on, the rubbish on the floor will not come up towards you. WPR - A Sense of Place

Feedback from tutor

Wave bench: the curve of the bench is quite nice, but it is important to find a specific place to put it while minimizing impact to the environment. In addition, materials should be researched further.

Umbrella&Seat: The place still needs to be more specific, and minimizing environmental impact should be taken into consideration. Then consider the questions like where to put the solar panel? how to make it capable for more people? how to maintain the umbrella? how does the system works?

Feedback from Peer1:
I really like the wave bench. It looks so nice and goes well with surroundings. But you better think about the choice of material and is it necessary to have that shelter, and consider the safety.

Feedback from Peer2:
I think the first idea is very appropriate for beach. the bench is shaped like wave and is low height. consideration on the material is very important, as beach environment is salty.

Feedback from Peer3:
The umbrella concept is interesting,  but you should consider the working method of it. It could also be permanent to provide a shelter. And it put it on the grass, it might be inconvenient for wheelchair users to access, so where to put it should be reconsidered and researched.

WPR 2 Green Gifting

Feedback from Tutor:
The positions of rabbets should be thought over to create more ways of combination. More experiments  should be done to find out the right lengths and positions of rabbets. A small instruction book can be designed guiding children to play.

Feedback from Peer1:
Some lines could be painted on the pieces to prompt ways of combination and tell the point of interlocking.  Different colours could be applied to attract children.

Feedback from Peer2:
If it is designed to packaged in a triangle box, the guide book could also be designed into the shape of triangle to bring joy.

Feedback from other tutors:
The instruction is necessary to tell the way of playing.
